Glatfelter Lydney, Ltd. has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 18/54/20/374/S which authorises the abstraction of water from the River Lyd at National Grid Reference SO 63157 03760. Water is transferred into The Cut and a proportion returned to the River Lyd at a point 2.75km downstream.
The variation applied for is: reduce the daily rate of abstraction from 17,000 to 15,000 cubic metres and reduce the current flow restriction from 173 to 115 litres per second. This restriction requires the stated flow to pass downstream before abstraction takes place.
