Geoffrey Smith at Abridge Golf Club has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Brookhouse Brook at National Grid Reference TQ 47872 98586, at Abridge Golf Club, Epping Lane, Stapleford Tawney, Romford, Essex, RM4 1ST.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 25 cubic metres an hour
- 600 cubic metres a day
- 30,000 cubic metres a year
- between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used to fill a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation of the golf course.
