FW Mansfield & Son has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number SO/040/0010/004 which authorises the abstraction of water from an underground strata comprising of chalk at National Grid References TR 12489 57468 and TR 09851 55743 retrospectively.

The variation applied for is to increase the water at the borehole at National Grid Reference NGR TR 12489 57468 from 9,572 cubic metres per year to 19,967 cubic metres per year, and the borehole at NGR TR 09851 55743 from 26,094 cubic metres per year to 53,722 cubic metres per year using trickle irrigation from 01 April to 31 October for horticultural purposes.
