This report provides an overview of the relationship between infrastructure and manufacturing in the UK. It focuses on 4 main areas:

  • the nature of the ‘infrastructure problem’
  • the ways in which manufacturing is dependent on infrastructure
  • the effects of changes in infrastructure technology
  • the implications for public policy

This review was commissioned as part of the Foresight project on the future of manufacturing in the UK.
