FRW Taylor has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Idle and Torne catchment.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 30 litres per second
  • 100 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,400 cubic metres a day
  • 49,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April to 31 October inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid References SK 53064 58042, SK 53242 59188, and SK 53188 59203
  • from abstraction location Cauldwell Brook and adjacent pond.

The water will be used for trickle irrigation.
