Frimstone Limited: applications made to abstract water

Frimstone Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The first application is for a full licence to abstract water from Engine Drain, Mitchell Hill Common, Cottenham, Cambridgeshire between National Grid References (NGRs) TL 48569 69873 and TL 48168 69650.
The second application is for a full licence to abstract from superficial river terrace deposits at the quarry void, Mitchell Hill Common in the area contained within NGRs TL 48062 71081, TL 48585 71386, TL 48569 69884 and TL 48026 69725.
The application to abstract water from the Engine Drain has water requirements as follows:
- 30 cubic metres an hour
- 300 cubic metres a day
- 84,150 cubic metres a year
- All year.
The application to abstract water from the quarry void at Mitchell Hill Common has water requirements as follows:
- 47 cubic metres an hour
- 1,127 cubic metres a day
- 411,355 cubic metres a year
- All year.
The water will be used for the purposes of dewatering the quarry and washing minerals at the site.
