Frederick David Rand, Christine Helen Rand, Robert David Rand and Charlie Frederick Rand (trading as Rand Brothers) have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from a tributary of the River Rhee at Meldreth, Cambridgeshire at National Grid Reference TL 36658 48540.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 23 cubic metres an hour
  • 550 cubic metres a day
  • 32,000 cubic metres a year

Between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent use for spray irrigation.

If granted the licence will be aggregated with an existing licence, so that the quantities listed above are the total quantities Rand Brothers can abstract between the 2 licences.
