Forterra Building Products Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Tame, Anker and Mease catchment.
The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:
- at an instantaneous rate of 70 litres per second
- 252 cubic metres an hour
- 6,048 cubic metres a day
- 433,879 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
- an area between National Grid References SK 32836 11033; SK 33262 11212; SK 33888 10396; and SK 33661 10073
- from abstraction location underground strata comprising Mercia Mudstone at Measham Quarry, Swadlincote.
The water will be used for transfer for the purpose of dewatering.
