This policy framework sets out the mandatory requirements, and general guidance, for prison and probation staff in the management during immigration detention and following any release of foreign national offenders on licence as part of their custodial sentence.
It sets out the data sharing process with Home Office Immigration Enforcement, accommodation options, responsibility for risk assessments and licence production.
This policy combines 2 previous policies (PSI 29/2014 / PI 26/2014 and PSI 34/2014 / PI 52/2014) on working with FNOs into a single document.
