FOI ref 0906-14 gives information on the FCO’s use of interns and work experience placements in Belgium, Canada, Japan, Spain and the USA from 1 September 2013 to 22 September 2014. A 9 page spreadsheet provides details of the locations, contracted hours, contract dates and rate of pay. It explains that embassies, high commissions and permanent representations run work experience and internship schemes in accordance with local, rather than UK, law
