FOI ref 0404-15 explains that the Department for International Development (DfID) agreed the UK position in favour of a voluntary scheme for conflict minerals at EU level. It lists the meetings FCO officials have had on the responsible sourcing of minerals since 1 March 2014 and gives a link to gov.uk of FCO ministers’ meetings. It also explains that documentation received from organisations is already in the public domain, on company or trade association websites. A further letter clarifies the response to FOI 0404-15 by explaining that DfID have given no advice to the FCO relating to the risks and or benefits of mandatory versus voluntary scheme for conflict minerals
