Details

The request was for information about the number and percentage of shifts filled by agency staff where the payments to such staff exceeded the price caps from the introduction of the rules to date. The request also asked how many shifts were both compliant and in breach of the rules for each NHS trust.

Monitor did hold some of the information requested and released information on the number of shifts which were reported as exceeding the price caps from the week beginning 23 November 2015 to the week beginning 28 December 2015. It did not release information for the remaining monitoring periods as it intended to publish it in due course.

Monitor did not hold the information on the number of shifts filled by agency staff and in particular the number of shifts reported as complying with the rules. It did not release information on shifts for each NHS trust.
