An application has been made to the Environment Agency by Flurin Holdings Limited. The Environment Agency are required to give notice of this application.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from 2 boreholes at Kings Mere Lake, Finchampstead at National Grid References (NGR): SU 81268 64957 and SU 81257 64919.

The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates and periods:

  • 16 cubic metres an hour

  • 234 cubic metres a day

  • 32,085 cubic metres a year

Between 1 March and 31 September (borehole 1) and 1 April and 31 March (borehole 2) inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation and maintaining the water level in Kings Mere Lake.
