The home affairs, interior and security ministers of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States (the ‘Five Countries’) met under Australia’s chairmanship, in Sydney on 25 to 26 August 2026, for the Five Country Ministerial Meeting.

In 2026, the Five Countries have driven coordinated action and practical cooperation on national security challenges, including the following priorities:

  • state threats
  • terrorism and violence
  • major event security
  • transnational, serious and organised crime
  • artificial intelligence and national security
