Sanctions
The Chemical Weapons regime implements sanctions imposed by the EU. You can view Council Regulation (EU) 2018/1542 on restrictive measure in place here
Implementation date
These sanctions were introduced on 15 October 2018.
Context
Sanctions are imposed against those who are responsible for manufacturing, using or engaging in preparations to use chemical weapons. This also extends to those who assist or encourage such activities.
