Details of the application
Ferrovial Agroman (UK) Limited have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Thanet Sands and Chalk aquifers at Albert Embankment from an array of boreholes bounded by an area delineated by National Grid References (NGR) TQ 30316 78232, TQ 30284 78261, TQ 30295 78281 and TQ 30336 78290. The abstracted water will be transferred into the River Thames at NGR TQ 30273 78250 without intervening use.
Abstraction will take place each day for the purpose of dewatering the lower aquifers to a desired level, to create a dry construction area.
