Ferrovial Agroman (UK) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Thanet Sands and Chalk aquifers at Victoria Embankment from an array of boreholes bounded by an area delineated by National Grid References TQ 30399 80203, TQ 30427 80202, TQ 30415 80145 and TQ 30386 80140. The abstracted water will be transferred into the River Thames at National Grid Reference TQ 30415 80130 without intervening use.
Abstraction will take place each day for the purpose of dewatering the lower aquifers to a desired level, to create a dry construction area.
