Details
This feasibility study was undertaken by ICF between January and April 2026, in agreement with the Government of Jamaica and funded by the Department for Transport (DfT).
It explores Jamaica’s potential to develop a domestic sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) sector, assessing:
- domestic feedstock availability
- SAF supply pathways
- the economic and emissions implications of deployment
- the policy, financing and implementation requirements that would need to be met for Jamaica to establish a SAF industry
DfT has conducted international capacity building on aviation decarbonisation to strengthen the global implementation of decarbonisation measures, generating socio-economic opportunities at home and abroad and fostering international cooperation and goodwill.
