Applications for FE ITE bursaries and grants for the 2020 to 2021 academic year closed on 18 January 2021.

The bursary manual is for providers offering pre-service ITE courses. It sets out the scope, eligibility criteria and details for the 2020 to 2021 academic year ITE bursaries offer.

The grants manual is for ESFA-funded FE providers who will employ individuals starting in-service ITE programmes in the 2020 to 2021 academic year. It sets out the scope, eligibility criteria and details for the ITE grants offer.

Applications for the 2021 to 2022 academic year opened on 4 March. Programme details and application forms are available at FE funding: initial teacher education (ITE) 2021 to 2022.

  1. Updated bursaries funding manual to provide guidance on bursary payments for trainees’ not fully engaging on the FE ITE programme and to clarify over payment entitlement for trainees who withdraw from the course.
