You can use this carbon impacts tool to help you calculate your:

  • net carbon emissions in tCO2e
  • net carbon economic benefits in £k

You should use it with the valuing the carbon net impacts of flood and coastal erosion risk management guidance.

You should also read the FCERM appraisal guidance and the partnership funding guidance.

This tool will help you to include carbon in your:

By using it, you are applying the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Green Book supplementary guidance on greenhouse gas emissions to your FCERM project.

The guidance covers carbon emissions:

  • avoided by reducing flooding or coastal erosion risks
  • from constructing and maintaining the FCERM solutions

It explains how you can calculate an overall net carbon value for your project.
