Export wine: certify wine not produced in Great Britain
Wine exported to the EU must have an EU VI-1 pro-forma to certify that the wine complies with EU regulations, unless it is exempt.

Details
A pro-forma is issued by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and can be used to show EU border control that you comply with EU VI-1 certification regulations.
There are some instances where you do not need EU VI-1 certification to export or move wine from Great Britain to the EU or Northern Ireland. Check exemptions to the EU VI-1.
A EU VI-1 pro-forma does not guarantee that the EU will accept your products.
Before you apply
There are steps you need to follow before you apply for an EU VI-1 pro-forma.
Complete and submit your EU VI-1 pro-forma
Send your completed form to Wine Exports.

After you have applied
Defra aims to process your application within 5 working days.
If your application is approved, you’ll get an authorised EU VI-1 pro-forma by email.
If you do not follow the terms and conditions set out in your EU VI-1 pro-forma, then your pro-forma will be removed.
Using your EU VI-1 pro-forma
You can use the EU VI-1 pro-forma document as many times as you need until the expiry date.
You must keep a copy of the VI-1 pro-forma and forward the original and a copy along with the shipment.
If your wine is rejected by an EU country after getting a VI-1
If an EU member state rejects a consignment of wine with a certified VI-1, you should notify the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Email the Wine Exports with the reasons for the rejection.
