Details of the application

Executors of HK Budgen Deceased have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number AN/035/0001/003 which authorises the abstraction of water from an un-named tributary of Lothingland Hundred River at National Grid Reference TM 49205 87247 at Rushmere in Suffolk.

The variation applied for is to increase the hourly, daily and annual abstraction quantities.

The proposed abstraction rates are as follows:

  • 54 cubic metres an hour

  • 1,296 cubic metres a day

  • 95,000 cubic metres a year

  • At an instantaneous rate not exceeding 15 litres per second

  • between 01 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.
