The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences near the Rive Barle in Exebridge on the B3222 (NGR SS9296224512).

The proposed improvement works will involve the following:

  • the construction of a small flood embankment along with a set of steps to provide continued access to the field
  • provide a gate and fences adjacent to the bridge to allow access from the road

The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. A desktop screening exercise has been carried out by our National Environmental Assessment Service team and internal consultation with our Fisheries & Bio-diversity team. A report of the findings are available, by prior appointment, at the address below.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
