This report details a study carried out by DASA Health Information, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, to determine the proportion of prisoners in England and Wales who are ex-service personnel.

A follow-up study was conducted as outlined in the September 2010 report.

Please note this report was not released in accordance with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.

A similar study found the proportion of those supervised by probation trusts in England and Wales who are veterans.
