In February 2022 the then Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) commissioned Nous Group (Nous) to provide an independent Evaluation of the Provision of Services Regulations 2009 (PoSRs) to understand their impact, assess the extent to which they remain fit for purpose, and identify areas for improvement.

The findings are based primarily on social research data collected via surveys and interviews undertaken with competent authorities and service providers in Spring 2022.

Nous’s evaluation report sets out 11 recommendations that focus on enhancing the role and impact of the PoSRs.
