Essex Wildlife Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from Big Fleet at Tollesbury Wick Reserve, Maldon, Essex at National Grid Reference (NGR) TL 9764 1007 to transfer it to Tollesbury Wick Reserve, Maldon, Essex at NGR TL 9758 1026 without intervening use.

How to view the application

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 120 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,880 cubic metres a day
  • 30,000 cubic metres a year
  • between November and June inclusive in each year

The abstraction is required to maintain water levels within Tollesbury Wick Reserve.
