Applies to England

1. Information: support schools to maximise their resources and budgets

ESFA is now tendering for organisations to supply, manage and accredit Schools Resource Management Advisers (SRMAs)

We are looking for:

• multiple organisations to recruit and manage the supply of SRMAs • one organisation to develop and deliver induction and an accreditation process

This is an exciting opportunity, please read more if you want to support schools to maximise their resources and budgets.

2. Information: improvements to the data collections service (the Hub)

We are improving the data collections service (the Hub) to:

  • make it quicker and easier for providers

  • bring it into line with GOV.UK standards

  • future-proof the service

We have been working with providers to make sure we understand their needs and will continue to do this as we move into the next phase of the project (private beta). We will also publish regular updates on our progress over the coming weeks.

If you would like to take part in our private beta research, complete our short survey.

3. Information: minimum standards thresholds for 2017 to 2018

We have published the minimum standards document for 2017 to 2018. This sets out the minimum standards thresholds for all age apprenticeships and adult 19+ education and training for 2017 to 2018 and how they are applied.

The thresholds for 2017 to 2018 are unchanged from the thresholds used in 2016 to 2017.

4. Information: early intervention and prevention strategy

We have updated and revised the published early intervention and prevention strategy for further education and sixth form colleges. This replaces the strategy published in December 2016.

We have revised the triggers for early intervention to help us identify risks to public funding of further education sooner. We have also taken the opportunity to reference the changes that have happened since the merger of our predecessor organisations in April 2017, such as, the expanded role of the FE Commissioner.

5. Information: devolution of adult education functions: the transition year memorandum of understanding

Department for Education and the combined authorities have agreed arrangements, set out on GOV.UK, to work together for the transition period, before certain adult education functions are devolved to combined authorities from the academic year 2019 to 2020.
