Details

Use this form to renew a boat registration on Environment Agency waterways. 

You must be an existing Direct Debit customer to use this form. 

This form should only be used by the current registered owner of a boat. 

When you have renewed the registration, the Environment Agency will send you a registration plate to display on your boat. 

Before you start 

You need to know: 

  • the boat name and registration number 
  • your boat insurance policy provider, number and expiry date 
  • your boat safety scheme certification number and expiry date, only if your previous one has expired 

If you are renewing a business registration, you will need to know your public liability insurance: 

  • provider  
  • number   
  • expiry date 

Certain businesses may also need to know if your boat and operation meet the: 

  • Code of Practice for Hire Boats 
  • Merchant Shipping Regulations 2015 
  • Inland Waters Small Passenger Boat Code
