Notice of application for a transfer licence.

The Environment Agency is applying to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water for a previously exempt abstraction. The application is within the North West Norfolk catchment.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulation 2017.

The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from an unnamed drain at Welmore Sluice, Fordham Fen, Downham Market, Norfolk at National Grid Reference TL 57203 98700. The water is transferred to the River Delph at the given National Grid Reference for the purpose of IDB functions. This existing abstraction was previously exempt from the need for a licence under the Water Resources Act 1991 and takes place all year round.

The licence shall be viewed as granted, unless the Secretary of State, either as a result of any representations made about the proposal or otherwise, instructs or asks for an application to be made to them.
