Details of the application

Notice of application for a transfer licence.

The Environment Agency is applying to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water for a previously exempt abstraction. The application is within the Thames Corridor catchment.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulation 2017.

Further details of the proposal are:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 167 litres per second
  • 600 cubic metres an hour
  • 600 cubic metres a day
  • 7,200 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 50324 05814.
  • from abstraction location Osney Dry Dock

The water will be used for Navigation authority functions .
