Enviroenergy Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Wollaton Groundwater Management Unit of the Sherwood Sandstone aquifer via a borehole at National Grid Reference SK 57781 39430, London Road Heat Station, London Road, Nottingham NG2 3AB.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 9 cubic metres an hour,
  • 216 cubic metres a day
  • 78,840 cubic metres a year

All year.

The water will be used as a source for Make up or Top up water to replace water lost from circulation pipes within the Nottinghamshire district heating system during the year.
