The English Hubs Programme was established in 2018.
34 hubs work with selected schools in their surrounding area to help them provide excellent teaching in phonics and early reading.
This report explains the results of applying statistical methods to year 1 pupils’ phonics screening check attainment to estimate the difference bespoke intensive support makes to pupils’ phonics learning.
It includes analysis of the first 6 cohorts of schools supported by the programme, up to and including 2025. It puts the results in the context of comparable studies of interventions in education.
