Details of the application
The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Advanced Demolition Limited.
Application number
EPR/FB3801SA/V004
Regulated facility type
Advanced Demolition Limited has applied to vary its environmental permit. The site previously operated under Standard Rules SR2015 No 8, which was consolidated into SR2022 No 5. The operator is not eligible for the new standard rules permit because the site is located within a Source Protection Zone. They must therefore apply for a bespoke permit to continue operating. The operator is not proposing any increase in throughput or new waste types. The site will continue to accept, sort and store non hazardous waste before it is sent off site. No hazardous waste or asbestos will be accepted. The application includes site improvements such as a new enclosed sorting building, upgraded drainage and new storage bays.

The application contains a description of how the proposed changes may affect:
- the installation
- the materials, substances and energy it will use and generate
- the conditions of its site
- the source, nature and quantity of its foreseeable emissions and their significant effects on the environment
- the proposed techniques for preventing, reducing, and monitoring its emissions and preventing and recovering waste
- and an outline of the main alternatives, if any, considered
