This explanatory memorandum is about a Commission Regulation (EU) 2025/1988 of 2 October 2025 amending Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in firefighting foams.

It was submitted by Emma Hardy MP, Minister for Water and Flooding, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
