This explanatory memorandum is about a EU regulation amending EU regulation 2023/1115 as regards certain obligations of operators and traders. Regulation 2023/1115 entered into force on 29 June 2023, and aims to curtail the availability and consumption of products that contribute to deforestation or forest degradation on the EU Single Market.

It was submitted by Mary Creagh CBE MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
