Details

This divisional letter informs building control bodies about the provisions in the Statutory Instruments The Building (Electronic Communications) Order 2008 (S.I. 2008/2334), and amendments made to:

  • the Building Act 1984
  • the Building Regulations 2000 (as amended)
  • the Building (Approved Inspectors etc.) Regulations (as amended)

The provisions will come into force on 1 October 2008.

The main change is the addition of a new section 94A to the Building Act which sets out the conditions under which the specified building control notices and documents may be given or served electronically.
