1. Information: new funding videos

The EFA has published two short videos explaining funding arrangements for 2016 to 2017. We recommend you view these videos and would welcome any feedback on them. The videos are:

  • Focus on pupil premium funding – provides answers to some of the more common questions we receive from academies and free schools including how we calculate and pay your pupil premium allocations and where you can find information on GOV.UK
  • High needs funding part 1 and High needs funding part 2 – give an overview of the high needs funding system for local authorities, academies and free schools, including information for local authorities on the process for requesting changes to place numbers

2. Information: system leader designation rounds

The Department for Education has opened the next round of applications for:

The deadline for each is Friday 6 November 2015.

The department is especially interested to receive NLG applications from high quality, experienced chairs who have the capacity and expertise to support other chairs to improve their governing bodies.

If you know someone with significant business experience and/or experience of chairing multi-academy trust boards, please forward to them the current eligibility criteria.
