1. Reminder: accounts return webinar

Register now for the 2 December webinar on the August academies accounts return.

The webinar will include a live question and answer session, and a discussion about the most challenging aspects of the accounts return. You can submit questions in advance when you register.

2. Action: national non domestic rates (NNDR) claims

All academies, free schools, studio schools and university technical colleges (UTCs) can claim funding to pay for their national non-domestic rates (NNDR).

If you haven’t yet claimed for the 2015 to 2016 financial year, you should complete the online claims form available on GOV.UK.

Academies can use the same form to claim for the 2014 to 2015 financial year, if they have not already done so.

3. Information: review of 16 to 19 study programmes data for 2013 to 2014

EFA has reviewed end-year 16 to 19 study programmes data for the 2013 to 2014 academic year, against the core principles of study programmes.

Our approach, including the areas we have reviewed, is outlined on GOV.UK.

We have found that the funding formula has had the planned impact on study programme delivery in most institutions. We have asked a small number of institutions to respond where their delivery appears outside that of the majority of providers.

4. Information: NASBM professional standards

The National Association of School Business Management (NASBM) has launched professional standards for schools business management.

These standards provide a national blueprint describing core responsibilities, specialist disciplines, leadership and management behaviours, and ethical expectations for the school business management profession.
