Details of the application

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of Pocklington Beck at Pocklington, National Grid Reference SE 80890 50008.

Water will be obstructed or impeded by a fixed sluice as part of a flood alleviation scheme.

The capacity of the reservoir at overflow level will be 79,800 cubic metres.

The proposed impoundment lies within the Hull and East Riding abstraction licensing strategy area and all water abstracted will be returned to Pocklington Beck at SE 80879 50003.
