East Midlands Trains: accessibility compliance dispensation

Dispensation letters for vehicles in fleets operated by East Midlands Trains, which will retain their existing accessibility levels until 12 December 2021.

     Added class 153 EMR Angel and PB dispensation letters for East Midlands Railways, which are valid until 12 December 2021.

  2. 26 July 2021

     May 2021 dispensation letters published.

  3. 28 December 2020

     Added dispensation letters for East Midlands Trains Angel Class 153, Angel HST, PB Class 153 and PB HST.

  4. 30 July 2020

     Replaced Porterbrook HST 2 + 8 dispensation: East Midlands Railway with new letter dated 17 July 2020.

Details

These letters set out decisions made by the Secretary of State for Transport to permit pre-1999 vehicles to continue in operation for a time-limited period during 2021 (subject to compliance with conditions specified). Detail of the levels of non-compliance is set out in the assessment spreadsheet.

This follows assessment of a unit and consultation with the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee (DPTAC), the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) and Transport Focus.
