This report outlines the findings from a small scale process evaluation of phase 1 of the early years professional development programme.
The evaluation involved interviews with the leaders of:
- 7 local authorities
- 5 early years settings
The programme was available to 50 local authorities in England.
It delivered continuing professional development to early years practitioners. It aimed to improve their practice when developing the speech and language of children aged 2 to 4.
Phase 1 ran between 2019 and 2021.
