In May 2023, the government launched a public consultation on proposed changes to the early years foundation stage.
This report is based on research asking 1,349 childcare providers if they:
- thought they would implement the changes proposed in the consultation
- did implement the changes, what impact they thought this would have
Providers were also asked:
- whether they planned to offer more childcare places to children aged under 3
- what barriers there were to offering places to children aged under 3 and children with special educational needs and disabilities
The research was carried out in July 2023.
