E & A C Messenger has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 13/44/058/S/014 which authorises the abstraction of water from a stream flowing from Bubble Spring at Galton Farm, Owermoigne, Dorset between National Grid References SY 7793 8536 to SY 7825 8591. Abstraction is for the purpose of spray irrigation between March and September inclusive.

The variation applied for is to add an additional abstraction point at National Grid Reference SY 77932 85349 at Bubble Spring pond, Galton Farm, Owermoigne and to increase abstraction rates as follows: from 91 cubic metres per day to 600 cubic metres per day and from 818.3 cubic metres per year to 35,000 cubic metres per year, at the instantaneous rate of 20 litres per second.
