DVLA annual report and accounts 2021 to 2022

Here are some of DVLA’s key achievements for 2021-22 included in this year’s report:

  • we issued 12.5 million driving licences and 17.8 million registration certificates
  • 46.7 million customers taxed their vehicles with 99% choosing to do so digitally
  • we collected over £7 billion in Vehicle Excise Duty (VED)
  • we opened a new customer service centre in Birmingham
  • we achieved planned IT service availability of 99.91% for our digital services
  • we retained the Customer Service Excellence Standard for the 14th consecutive year
  • we processed nearly 3.5 billion automated and digital interactions via our enquiry platforms
  • we launched our new tachograph driver card digital service
