Arab Health 2015 will take place in Dubai from 26-29 January. Earl Howe, Lord Kakkar and Arlene Foster will lead a UK delegation of over 200 companies. The UK will be showcased as a world leader in the design, development and operation of healthcare infrastructure, products and services.

Earl Howe, England Health Minister (at his third Arab Health), Lord Kakkar, Business Ambassador, and Arlene Foster, Northern Ireland Minister of Enterprise will lead a strong delegation of academic and clinical institutions to Arab Health, which takes place in Dubai from 26 to 29 January 2015.

The congress and trade show is one of the largest in the world with a regional and global reach. Over 200 UK companies will be exhibiting, the UK’s largest ever presence. These will include Health Education England, University College London (UCL) Medical School, Skills for Health, Imperial College London, Great Ormond Street, King’s College Hospital, Queen’s University Belfast, Royal Free Hospital, Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Moorfields and the Devolved Adminstrations.

Our high level representation will seek to:

  • Promote UK expertise in the healthcare industry.

  • Increase the UK’s share of the growing global healthcare market.

  • Focus on expanding our market share in the Middle East healthcare market taking advantage of the rapid growth in investment which is expected to be worth $60 billion by 2025.

  • Support wider HMG initiatives to develop deeper linkages between Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland through a joint networking reception.

Our activities will include:

  • One to one meetings with senior Emiratis and Gulf Ministers of State.

  • Delivering proposition workshops showcasing the UK’s healthcare “offer” on clinical services, education and training and genetics/personalised medicine.

  • Hosting a joint UK/Irish/Northern Ireland Healthcare Networking Event – fulfilling a commitment made by the Prime Minister and Taoiseach.

  • A meeting of the UK-UAE Healthcare working group as part of the UAE-UK Business Council – the working group is key to helping develop relationships with Emirati partners, investors and customers.

  • An inward mission from South East Asia as part of our GREAT activities, focussing on strategic planning and consultancy.

Our high level delegation will give a timely boost to what we hope will be the next phase of UK-UAE collaboration on healthcare, as well as increase our global footprint as a world leader in healthcare provision. We will report outcomes next week, following the congress.
