Details

This memorandum provides further explanation of the DSIT entry in HM Treasury’s Main Estimates as presented to Parliament on 29 April 2026.

It is divided into 3 sections:

  • DSIT objectives, budgets, main areas of spending and drivers for changes in spending including efficiency initiatives
  • detail on budget changes presented in the Supplementary Estimate, in particular additional funding from the Treasury, funding returned to the Treasury and budget transfers between central government departments
  • how DSIT spending relates to performance against priorities, and details of major DSIT projects

The DSIT overseas superannuation is voted for separately by Parliament because it is deemed, for supply purposes, to be a department in its own right. There are no changes to the overseas superannuation account budgets in the HM Treasury’s 2026 to 2027 Main Estimates, so a separate memorandum has not been published.
