The paper investigates the main drivers for the relocation of firms within the UK. It covers more sectors than previous analysis and reflects changes in sectoral composition.

The research included:

• 40 in-depth interviews with relocating firms and stakeholders
• econometric analysis using the Inter-Departmental Business Register (IDBR)
