The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 from Anglian Water Services Limited.

  • Regulated facility type: Three Abstraction Boreholes
  • Regulated facility location: Winterton Holmes Boreholes at Winterton, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, DN15 9SS.
  • NGR discharge point: (1) SE 95872 17834, (2) SE 95750 17840 and (3) SE 95814 18016
  • Receiving environment: Roxby Catchment Drain
  • Effluent type: Trade effluent consisting of groundwaters abstracted from three boreholes for the purposes of testing for contaminants
  • Volume : (Discharge point 1) 486 cubic metres per day, (Discharge point 2) 2,592 cubic metres per day and (Discharge point 3) 162 cubic metres per day

Normally the Environment Agency must put any comments they receive on the public register. Tell the Environment Agency if you don’t want your comments to be public. The Environment Agency must decide whether to grant or refuse the application. If they grant it, they must decide what conditions to include in the permit.
