Details

This Direction was issued by Secretary of State on 28 April 1995 and requires local planning authorities to consult the Garden History Society on applications for planning permission which, in their opinion, are likely to affect any registered park or garden.

It was originally published in Appendix C of Circular 9/95: General Development Order Consolidation 1995. The remainder of this circular has been cancelled in relation to England, as part of the wider review of guidance culminating in the publication of new Planning Practice Guidance.

See guidance on the consultation requirements for heritage-related applications.

It is important to note the Direction is entirely unchanged from the version in Circular 9/95 and the cancellation of the remainder of Circular 9/95 only applies in relation to England.
