Details

This letter responds to a Freedom of Information request about the costs to Department for Transport for communicating and promoting High Speed 2 (HS2) in the January to July 2011 period and the final estimated cost of the HS2 consultation, running from February to July 2011.

The response states that communication related expenditure at the time of writing the letter is £2,020,349.08 and is estimated to total approximately £2,033,483 by the time the consultation closes. The £2,020,349.08 cost accounts for:

  • production of a consultation document and website
  • approximately £1,228,239.29 spent on roadshows
  • £63,040.11 spent on advertising
